Are you willing to open your home and heart to an animal in need?  Love the idea of a dog at the foot of your bed, but unable to commit to long-term pet ownership?  We are always looking for generous households to provide temporary homes to our puppies, dogs, kittens and cats as they are prepared for adoption.

Animals often come to us in various states of health and must be vetted, vaccinated, spay/neutered, and nurtured before they are ready to find their new homes.  This is where our Foster "Parents" come in.

We provide the food, supplies and cover all the veterinary costs; you provide time, space and love.  Typically, foster placements last for a minimum of three weeks but may last, in rare circumstances, up to several months.  The decision to foster a particular animal or animals is at the foster home's discretion.  You will never be asked to house and care for an animal that you do not feel comfortable taking in.  You will, however, need to be prepared to handle the occasional housetraining "accident," the occasional chewing "mishap," and the possibility that your foster pet may require treatment for an illness like kennel cough, upper respiratory infection, intestinal parasites, or other illness while in your care.  Of course, we happily support our foster homes with constant communication, a comprehensive foster care manual, and access to quality veterinary care, so you will never feel alone in your endeavors!

Please Note: New Foster Homes are expected to attend a Volunteer Orientation, where you will receive a thorough overview of the program.  See the "News and Events" section on our Home page for the next scheduled meeting date and location.
