Happy Endings

Some words of appreciation from past adopters . . .

"Max"
We're doing fine....every day is a new adventure. I brought him into the Capitol on Tuesday where he had dozens of people stop by and just go nuts over him. I find myself calling him "nutcase" because he does so many funny things . . . He wants to be with me always, and we're trying to set some limits...like the bathroom. Tried to clean my curio cabinet this morning but because of the mirrored backing, he wanted to be in it. He goes to the vet tomorrow to get stiches out and a well-dog check up.
Thanks for all you do.

"Mochi"
I have attached a photo of Mochi & his new "Little" brother Reno. Reno is a 4 month old Belgian Malinois who we adopted because did was not going to make it as a drug enforcement dog because he was too loveable. Now Mochi has someone to run "crazy dog" with in the backyard and play with. Although Reno is big enough already for Mochi to walk under Mochi has learned to use his agility to overcome his smaller stature. We can tell that Mochi was very loved and well cared for by his previous owner and hope she will know that he is just as loved now. Thanks again for this wonderful pup.

"Peanut" (formerly "Oink")
Hello! We wanted to let you know how Oink is doing since our adoption of her last fall. The kids decided to rename her, and came up with the name Peanut. It is quite fitting with her multi-colored brown coat and light brown eyes. She had gained about four pounds and is very happy and healthy. She fits into our family just perfectly. She has a sweet disposition and a calmness about her that we just adore. Peanut prefers to curl up upon the back of our couch in the sun or cuddle up in someone's warm lap. She enjoys long walks and greeting the kids in our neighborhood along the way.
We want to thank you for all the good work you do to provide homes for these pets. Everything we were told about Peanut before we adopted her was very helpful in getting to know her and in training her. She loves other dogs, especially two dogs in our extended family whom we often dog sit in our home. She was well socialized in her foster home, and so loves being with other dogs and our two children. She greets the kids with her tail a waggin' every day after school. She is a blessing!
"Bruce"
We absolutely love Bruce, he is so cuddly and friendly . . . Thanks again for everything! Our little family is having a great time learning about each other and bonding.

"Thundercat"
He is such a character - I love him :)

"Winnie" (formerly "Winn-Dixie")
Healthy, happy, and home at last :)

"Spunky" (formerly "Pretty")
She is a joy.

"Rags"
He and I are really bonding and I can't imagine not having him around.

"Sox McGee" (formerly "General Tso")
Just wanted to thank you again for the wonderful, little guy we got from you.

"Rye" (formerly "Olive")
Pictured at a recent adoption event, Rye stopped in to show us how great she's doing!

"Sophie" (formerly "Symphony")
She's quite a doll, and we are just nuts about her!

"Meira" and "Mycella" (Formerly "Bunny" and "Shifty")
Overall, we couldn't ask for two more perfect kitties in our lives!! There is no way they could have gotten any more love and attention from any other family...we give it as much as we soak it up!!

"Busy" AKA "Trinket" (Formerly "Lola")
Everyone loves her, she loves everyone and she’s the best thing that has happened to us for years!

"Crystal" (Formerly "Birdie")
Yes Birdie, who is now named Crystal is doing very well. We love having a kitten in the house. She is very, very playful. She had a check-up and is doing great. Thank you for a terrific experience.

"Chico" (Formerly "Bowie")
We have had Chico for 8 months now. He is a great puppy, we are so glad to have him. We walked all winter on the many trails in McHenry County and now we are preparing to bike to our hikes. He is great to have around and a pleasure to be with. Adopting through Petropolis was a great experience for us.

"Kaiser" (Formerly "Lennon")
He is PASSIONATE about food!! He can sniff out a treat from across the room and once he figures out who has it won't leave them alone!! He goes through a whole baggie of treats at puppy class and still looks for more! He also has discovered a new dog food that he can't get enough of. My grandparents feed their dog Eukanuba and he inhales it! Of course we get the dog with expensive taste!! hehehe!
Other than that, Kaiser is doing awesome! He is such a happy dog and everyone loves him! (How can you not with that sweet personality of his?)
"Nigel"
We would like to thank you so much for allowing us to adopt Nigel. We are so happy to have him as part of our family. He has adjusted well to being spoiled! He's great with the baby, a good watch dog, and a snuggly teddy bear. He's everything we hoped for and more. His mug makes us melt. It was hard to pick just one picture because he's so cute inall of them, so we're sending a few of our favorites. Thanks again.

"Barkly" (Formerly "Crow")
It has been a while, not much time to write today, but thought I would relay how we are doing-----I LOVE HIM--- I just can't wait to get home at night to see him . . . All the barn dogs like him. I bought a special smaller crate for barn use--when I am riding--but he has made many people and dog friends there---we are going to a birthday party there tonight--- I think he will enjoy that. When we go for walks at night he has made many other people and dog friends--a poodle, a husky, a lab mix, a beagle, a Tibetan mastiff and a mix dog that has the same body shape as Barkly--and that is just a few of his friends. Every time he sees anyone with in block ---he heads for that direction.

"Harrison"
He is starting to walk on the leash little by little each day and he loved my Mom's dogs. He is starting to take ownership of the house each day and his confidence is getting higher and higher.

"Phyllis" (formerly "Naja")
. . .Soon she discovered the couch. Once she laid down she pretty much refused to move, and that's been her favorite spot since. Of course, she wants both of us to be on the couch with her, and she gets concerned when we move around too much or go to the store, but I think once she finally understands that we're always coming back, she will become a complete couch potato. She's already really popular with our friends, because they've never seen a dog so passive and sweet. She likes to sleep with us and is a total bed hog.

"Ogra"
Just wanted to give you an update on Ogra. She has settled in well, and we love her!!! She is so sweet and quite the snuggler. When she gets excited, she squeaks and it's so cute. She and Gizmo are getting along great - she always finds him and plops right down next to him. The kids absolutely adore her, and she's been to school twice due to popular demand! She is getting loads of love, and even has her favorite sleeping spot on the couch. She's also put on a few pounds, and is a little chub. Thank you so much for allowing us to adopt Ogra. We always enjoy telling the story of how we got her, and it's not one we will ever forget!

"Sabrina" (formerly "Noir")
This is me and Bree!!! She is so perfect!!!!!! I love her and thanks so much for bringing us together!!!
"Oscar" (formerly "Lynyrd")
Oscar says "Thanks for finding me a great home!"

"Cally" (Formerly "Chewy")
We just wanted to send a few pictures, and to let you know that Cally is doing really well. She has settled in and is a great addition to our family. Thanks a lot!

"Miss Daisy"
Miss Daisy feels like she was meant to be a part of our family. My son grabs her fat little face in his hands and puts his nose up against hers and says "Hi my fat kitty" and when my daughter goes up to bed Miss Daisy just naturally goes with her and when I go up they are both curled up on the bed. My husband lays on the couch watching tv (sleeping) with her on his chest. And she is the first thing I get to see when I get home from work.

"Zayla" (Formerly "Shadow"/Formerly "Diane")
Oh my GOD we freaking love her!!! She is a VERY good dog . . . Well, I'm rambling on and on... but I was just so excited to tell you about all of things Zayla has been doing and learning. We are very happy with her, and she seems to be very happy with us. I will send you more pictures as soon as I can.

"Bailey" (Formerly "Lolli Pup")
"We are currently in training at Tops with Bailey and she is doing great! She gets praised on how well she is doing each week from the trainer. Our plan is to continue with her in the advanced and obstacle course training at Tops as well. She is part Kangaroo we have decided... she jumped into our Tahoe... through the driver's door window!! We can't say enough about her and love her to pieces! She and our other dog, Dexter (Pomeranian) play together daily. Their favorite activities are playing tug of war with the rope toy and trying to bite each others body parts (legs, tails, necks, etc.)"

"Zoey" (Formerly "Mo")
"Hopefully you got the picture of Zoey aka Mo she's doing great.
No longer in the crate she has the run of the house NO problems."
"Maven"
"I just want to report to you about Miss Maven :) She is the love of our lives :) What a sweet puppy. She hasn't done anything bad and she is so well tempered it's just a miracle that we are together :) We go to the expresso bar every morning, and she is the star. She sits on everyone's lap and falls asleep by the fireplace. She did steel a bagel from a coffeetable.. but it was pretty funny and she didn't get into trouble."
